As a first large project of a second term we will be working on a portrait photography project.
During the project preparation I had many ideas in my head, although I was not sure if I'll be able to realize them. Firstly I wanted to use colour, make background of a different colour, using basic colour pallet. Paint my face in desired colours and use self portrait technique to express emotions in various colours. This project would not be easy to realize due to my work and school timing frame, therefore I have started researching photographers looking for some other idea as an inspiration.
I have started with Terry O'Neil and his portraits.
I found below photograph of Helena Bonham Carter and it gave me an idea of a photoshoot in my own garden, during the day. I wanted to use an Ivy wall as a background. As for the props I prepared a flower crowns for the model.
I have asked my daughter (8) if she would like to pose, but due to our school and work schedule we could only shoot on a Weekend and the weather was not great therefore I have started realizing my third plan. The plan was a photoshoot also inspired by Terry O'Neil and his black and white portraits with the use of different sources of light.
I find the light in photography a most important part. Light builds the depth, gives the meaning to the portraits. I really enjoy reading O'Neill's photography, finding the depth, contemplating the lightning techniques used and the composition.
For the photoshoot I have planned to use natural light coming in to my living room between 10 AM and noon on Saturday. I planned to shoot in my bedroom on the same day in the afternoon as the afternoon light nicely lights up my bedroom and gives very warm feeling.

The sources fro images should be a hyperlink below the image however good that you have looked at the light and it is clear from your first shoot you have used your ideas here.
