● What is your final idea? Please explain in two sentences the theme and the form your writing will take.
My final idea is a prose, a children story book. It will be divided in to three parts with three different stories. Each story will be about ten to twelve pages long, including illustrations from copyright free sources (possibly generated by AI).
● Considering the form, how do you intend to layout your book pages?
Each story will have a separate page with the title and the main illustration. There will be some illustrations in between the text on the pages as well.
● How many pages do you expect there will be?
I am expecting to create 30-40 pages of text joined with illustrations.
● Are you going to use images? Are these your own images (illustrations/photographs) or copyright free images that you will source?
Yes. Illustrations are an important part of a children story. I will use copyright free sources to find the right pictures, maybe some illustrations will have to be generated.
● What is the plan of your time and how much you will need to spend on
this? Remember writing is something that you will need time and concentration without disturbance - you must make sure that you plan time to do this.
I will need about 20 - 30 hours to complete the chapbook. It will take about 7-10 hours per week. I will be able to write in the evenings between Wednesday and Sundays.
● What do you imagine the final book will look like?
I imagine it will be colorful with slightly larger font so the children can read it. It will have an information about the author, a photograph of the author, a list of illustration sources at the back. I am planning to include the photograph of my inspiration at the back.
● Have you considered the cover page/contents page/back cover with blurb?
I have looked in to blurb, I might be using it to create the chapbook.
● Drafting and redrafting will need to be done? Who would you get to proofread your work?
I will do my first proofreading. For the final proofreading I will be asking one of my friends or a teacher. I have not decided who it's going to be yet, I will need to ask if they have time.
